I became aware of the Law of Polarity a few years ago and I soon realized that intuitively I had been using it for my own personal development, as well as for mothering and mentoring.
What is the Law of Polarity?
The law of Polarity is one of the Seven Spiritual Laws that govern everything in the Universe. Four of these Spiritual Laws are Mutable and three are Immutable. The Law of Polarity is one of the Four Mutable Laws.
The three Immutable Laws are:
Law of Mentalis
Law of Correspondence
These Laws are timeless and you can’t change or transcend them.
The four Mutable Laws are
Law of Polarity
Law of Rhythm
Law of Cause and Effect
Law of Gender
These laws can be changed for the betterment of your life.
The Law of Polarity is not a topic in everyday conversation, or for that matter, any of these laws. The Law of Polarity states that everything has its opposite and even though these two things may seem to oppose each other, they are actually part of the same spectrum and one can’t exist without the other.
This brings to mind one of my children’s favorite games that we played while traveling in the car: the “opposite game.”
This Game can be used to explain the Law of Polarity in simple terms. These opposites can’t exist without each other. Here are some of our favorite opposites.
- day and night
- high and low
- big and little
- long and short
- open and close
- happy and sad
- laugh and cry
- dirty and clean
- rich and poor
- man and woman
- boy and girl
- husband and wife
This post is taking me down memory lane. I really enjoyed raising my children. I’m blessed!
Back to the Law of Polarity – you know when you’re sad because you have experienced its opposite, happiness. You wouldn’t know a child was a boy without the opposite reference of a girl. But more than that, the law of polarity says they are the same, just on different end of the spectrum. That means you can make a conscious decision to move to the other end of the pole for the other experience. Hmm, does this mean we can go from having the experience of being a woman to have the experience of being a man or vice-versa? This one is opening up a controversial topic and that is not what this post is about, therefore, I’m taking a detour. SCREECH!
Ignorance is not an excuse
The phrase “ignorance of the law is not an excuse” was coined in reference to man made laws but to some degree it applies to the Spiritual Laws. You don’t have to be aware of them; you don’t have to accept them as the truth, for them to affect your life.
My intuition and the Law of Polarity
I would tell my children and anyone else who would listen “the opposite of every experience exists. You get to choose the one you want to live.” Or another of my favorite mantras “what you want already exist, it doesn’t have to be created for you.” In essence this is the Law of Polarity.
My fascination
What fascinates me about the Law of Polarity is its complexity and its simplicity.
It’s simple because anything in my life that is a negative can be replaced with a positive. It doesn’t matter if it’s physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. It’s simple because if I want something that doesn’t exist, just thinking about it, makes it possible for it to take a physical form. How cool is that?
It’s complex because people in the world at large can’t seen to master this law or most of the laws for that matter. For example
Why do countries use wars to foster peace, when the Law of Polarity allows peace to foster peace? Why do we have lack when the Law of Polarity says there is enough? Why is there an epidemic of homelessness, when the Law of Polarity says the opposite is possible?
Ah, the complexities of the world at large. But it’s not only the world at large.
It’s complex because so many people I meet in my everyday life, even though they have a burning desire to go from one end of the pole to the other, can’t seem to make that leap, especially in the areas of money and relationships.
How about you?
Are you using the Law of Polarity to create your reality? You can use this law to create your ideal life but you first need to become AWARE of the experience you want to change.
What do you want?
Write a Book
Impact the world at large
Do the impossible
Whatever you’re experiencing, to whatever degree you’re experiencing it, ACCEPT beyond a shadow of a doubt that the opposite exists for you. Now, close your eyes for a moment, breathe, and really wrap your mind around that. Let your imagination soar.
Open your eyes and take ACTION. Do one thing right now to ACHIEVE. As you take action everything will align for your success: the mentor, the coach, the partner, the opportunity, money or whatever will show up. Just believe!
Your belief is not necessary for the Law of Polarity to work. Your belief will move you forward to take action to achieve.
I love simple formulas – here’s one that will help you make the leap to the other end of the spectrum.
Awareness + Acceptance + Belief + Action = your new reality
I’m not an expert on the Spiritual Laws. This is my personal interpretation. I would love to hear from you so that I can learn and grow.

Adalia, the formula is absolutely fabulous! My interpretation is as follows:
Awareness involves recognizing that in every moment, we are choosing love or fear. Acceptance involves loving what is , without judgment. Belief involves remembering to align intention, thought, feeling, word and deed to God consciousness. Action involves feasting on faith and fasting on fear. The new reality that we are One tied to another, here to love and serve each other shifts every area of our lives. Thank you Adalia, I enjoyed your post

Love your interpretation and “feasting on faith and fasting on fear” a classic. Do I have your permission to use that quote? Thanks for your inspirational insights.
