Mother's Day Image Quote

Over the years of celebrating Mother’s Day I was never curious about its origin. That changed when I started to blog. I’ve become curious about these things because it gives me content to inspire, educate and motivate my audience.

A brief history of Mother’s Day

2014 is the 100th year since President Woodrow Wilson Signed the proclamation to make “Mother’s Day” a recognized holiday. It was Anna Jarvis’ focused intention and right action that made this possible.
After Anna’s mother’s death in 1905, she wanted to continue her mother’s work (her mother, Anna Reeves Jarvis, was a peace advocate) and to honor her mother and all mothers with a special day. Anna did the work to make this possible and the rest is history.
“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”  ~ Napoleon Hill,
Today, Mother’s Day is an International celebration.
