John Lennon’s birthday was a few days ago – he was an amazing artist – a visionary and thought leader. His words and actions were in alignment for a world of peace and harmony.
He continues to be an influence in the lives of so many people around the world. Here are ten of my favorite quotes by John.
I added them to some images I found at morguefile and wikimedia commons. The photo editor I used was Pixlr.
I hope one or more of these 10 Inspirational Image Quotes inspire and motivate you for all that is possible for yourself, your community and the world.
“Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.”
“What you’ve got to do is keep hope alive. Because without it we’ll sink”
“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.”
“You don’t need anybody to tell you who your or what you are. You are what you are.”
“Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears”
“If everyone demanded peace instead of a television set, then there’d be peace.”
“One thing you can’t hide is when you’re crippled inside.”
“If someone thinks that peace and love are just a cliche that must have been left behind in the 60s, that’s a problem. Peace and love are eternal.”
“Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns it calls me on and on across the universe.”
“How can I go forward when I don’t know which way I’m facing?”
It’s a wrap
John Lennon was passionate and purposeful – he defined success on his terms. Too many of us allow others to define our success. Your successful life should be defined by you.

Thanks Adalia, this quote comforted me while being attacked earlier this week for stating my firmly held beliefs:
“You don’t need anybody to tell you who you are or what you are. You are what you are.”
They don’t know me like I know me! And I’m still glad 2B me!
Hi Brett,
I was just talking with my daughter about giving up our power … we truly give up our power when we seek validation from others. We give up our power when we allow what people do or say affect us in such away that we jump off a cliff. We CANNOT control what others say or do but we have control over our acceptance and our reaction.
I really like the quote that says we cannot hide our crippled inside. It is so true. Our actions and decisions we make are reflected based on how we are inside. If we easily get angry maybe it’s because we are angry inside, at ourselves. If we cannot forgive others, maybe it’s because we can’t forgive ourselves. This is true wisdom.
Thanks for the post
Hello Suein,
You are most welcome … forgiveness is not for the other person, it’s for YOU. Forgiveness frees you from the invisible shackles that keep you anchored to a negative or perceived negative experience.
