Happiness is never stopping to think if you are ~ Palmer Sondreal
I never get enough of the conversation about happiness. I’ve written about it three times on my blog.
What is happiness? Answers from people on the street
My visit to one of my favorite hang outs – Ted talks – led to THIS conversation. I found an enlightening video by Srikumar Rao and his ideas about happiness mirror mine.
His statement “we’re hard wired for happiness” resonated with me.
My belief
I believe I was born happy and I also believe YOU are innately happy.
Happiness is an emotion – and like all emotions – you’re in control of the barometer. Your mindset – what you focus on – makes you happy or not.
Those who look outside of themselves for happiness, more often than not, are disappointed. Or they get a temporary happiness fix and the vicious cycle of finding happiness begins.
If you search the world for happiness, you may find it in the end, for the world is round and will lead you back to your door. ~Robert Brault
External factors can stimulate your happiness BUT they don’t give you happiness.
Srikumar’s belief
Srikumar Rao says we spend most of our lives learning to be unhappy, even as we strive for happiness.
At Arbejdsglaede Live! 2009, he teaches us how to break free of the “I’d be happy if …” mental model, and embrace our hard-wired happiness.

Your Turn
Do you think we’re innately happy?

This article is really nice. Thanks for sharing by the way. Yes, I agree when you pointed out that most of the time, we’re unconsciously making ourselves unhappy thinking that we’d be happy in the end. Kind of weird, but that’s so true. Please keep posting!
Hello Joy appreciate your visit and comment. Happiness is for everyone and it’s free. No one can take it from us and one can give it to us. It’s difficult for some to grasp that concept. That is why we have so many unhappy people. They don’t understand what it means to be happy.
