Thinking Woman With A Thought Bubble

My daughter and the “Walking Dead” series on AMC influenced me to write this post “Harness the Power of your subconscious Mind to Achieve Your Goals

Last weekend my daughter and I camped out in the living room on our lap tops. I was taking care of some business projects and she was searching for something to watch on Netflix.

She was glued to the screen when I heard a piercing scream.  My daughter was watching something that was scaring the day lights out of her. What’s going on? I went to investigate. She was watching a series called “The Walking Dead.”  The show was in its second season before someone brought it to her attention. She decided to do a marathon and watch each episode of the first season back to back.

She continued screaming intermittently and I said to her “it’s just a movie.” Then I paused, I realized that this was an example of the subconscious mind reacting to an event as if it was real.

It didn’t matter that it was “just a movie.” It didn’t matter that my daughter was intelligent, and knew logically that the zombies were actors. On an emotional level it was real and the subconscious mind accepted it as such.

Harnessing the power of your subconscious mind

Did you know that you can harness the power of your subconscious mind to help you achieve your goals?

For example: Let’s say you wanted to finish a marathon but you did not believe you could accomplish this feat. You can influence your subconscious mind with your emotions to help you achieve this goal.

How to harness the power of your subconscious mind

Remember how my daughter reacted to “The Walking Dead” as if it was real?  You can do the same thing for the marathon. Create a movie of you completing the marathon: visualize it, imagine it, write it down, speak about it, and act it out.  Feel the joy, the exhilaration, and celebrate your accomplishment as if it’s already done. Live and breathe this scene everyday, even on the day of the marathon.

Your subconscious mind will accept this accomplishment as if it’s real and all the necessary elements will align to help you achieve this goal.  You will be motivated to take action to train for the marathon because your subconscious mind is aligned with your conscious desire.

It’s a wrap

You can harness the power of your subconscious mind to achieve any goal. Set backs will quickly turn into come-backs. You’ll catapult over hurdles and pummel through obstacles to achieve your results.
