“If you want to write, you can. Fear stops most people from writing, not lack of talent. Who am I? What right have I to speak? Who will listen to me? You are a human being with a unique story to tell. You have every right.” – Richard Rhodes
It has been said that there’s a book inside all of us but for those of us who don’t consider ourselves “writers” lack of confidence can keep us from writing our first line.
Here’s a confidence boost – digital publishing has changed the publishing industry- it’s now easier than ever for the average person to write and publish books successfully. E-books now outsell paperbacks on Amazon.
I was visiting another one of my favorite hang-outs, Pinterest, and found an infographic with tips from 14 published authors that will help you write an e-book that actually sells.
If you’re an entrepreneur, an e-book can help you with visibility and branding. Michelle Price, CEO of A Third Mind Digital Media, suggests using your book as your business card. It doesn’t matter if you’re writing fiction or non-fiction, for business or other reasons, these tips will boost your self-confidence to get started.
If you have insights, experience and expertise that would benefit others; it’s selfish to keep it to yourself. ~ Sam Horn
No more excuses for not publishing your first book, I’m taking my own advice and setting a date to publish my first book on or before May 31, 2013. A public declaration … will you join me?
If you want more information about the authors, Hector J Cuevas, creator and publisher of the infographic, shares that on his blog at INBoundPRO.
Spoiler Alert!
Each suggestion is based on the author’s own experience and a few contradict each other – # 6. Tyler, from Advanced Riskology, highly recommends market research . #7. Amy, from Blogging With Amy, says to dive in.
Don’t’ sweat the small stuff; allow your intuition and your style of getting things done to influence the steps you implement. Research! Research! Write your book. I look forward to seeing you as a published author.
Check out the infographic and share the topic of your book with me.
